| Spring Digest | Welcome to the brucedaniel.ART new quarterly digest for lovers of art and the Australian landscape – we hope it does not cause you indigestion! Inside you will find some tasty morsels from Bruce's previous and current exhibitions with a minimal side serve of commentary.
|
It is critical for an artist to have an audience, so we would love you to share this with friends or family who may be interested. If there is something that you would like to see in the next edition (or never see again), your feedback and suggestions would be appreciated.

| | Chronicles of the Accidental Nomads In June, we set off on a short trip to Scotts Head with our painting gear, laptops and one small suitcase. When Sydney was subsequently plunged into lockdown, we chose to take our art making on the road and became accidental nomads. I hasten to add we are fully vaccinated, fully compliant with public health orders and were fully locked down for 5 weeks at Tathra Beach! |
We spent three months painting and collecting new material for artworks in beachside ‘retreats’, three of these courtesy of generous friends. Along the way we encountered many iconic Australians - wallabies, echidnas, community minded vintners, snow-bound farmers in Crookwell, and salty surfers. |

| Recent Commissions Weather Vanes - Oil on canvas - 101 x 101 cm
|
Completed during our sojourn on the Sapphire coast of NSW, Weather Vanes depicts stunning rock formations at Potato Point – home of traditional owners, the Yuin. We installed it on our way back to Sydney.
|
Bruce's approach to a commission is: tell him what you like, he'll paint a picture and if you don't like it you don't have to buy it. Win-win all round! |

Coastal Exposure: Rocks from Deep Time, was the theme of Bruce’s solo exhibition at Art Space on the Concourse Chatswood in June 2021. It was a thrill to welcome so many people to the opening night (we haven’t seen a crowd that big since) and we appreciate the support of all who attended. |
